Therapy for Therapists
One of the services I provide is therapy for therapists. It’s amazing how small the therapy world feels when you are trying to find your own therapist who isn’t someone you know, have worked with, and you want to find someone trusted. I am familiar with supporting those experiencing burnout, disillusionment with the system(s), trying to manage our own stuff that eventually presents in session, and working with the trauma that occurs from working in the system(s).
I love working with other therapists and this has inadvertently become a specialty of mine. The combination of my experience in the field, being a second career therapist (other life experiences), and my age (mid-40s!) seems to speak well to folks. I’m also relationally connected and fairly direct.
To understand my background: I started grad school at 30, spent several years working in community mental health (co-occurring and substance use disorder treatment, in an IOP and doing assessments), completely burnt out and left direct practice for a job with an insurer swearing I’d never do direct service work again. During the early pandemic amidst a layoff, I decided to try direct practice again in a private group practice. I loved it. I became a supervisor and then the Director of Operations there. I left in February of 2026 to go off on my own and engage more in direct clinical work again.
I am psychodynamically trained though practice eclectically with influences from ACT, EMDR, Gestalt therapy among others.
Some clinical thought leaders I follow are Janina Fisher, Resmaa Menakem, Raquel Martin, Lindsay Gibson, Kina Wolfenstein.
If you are a clinician looking for your own therapist in NJ, PA, or DE, please reach out. I would be happy to set up a consultation to see if we might be a good fit.
